Protospiel Online is committed to creating a welcoming environment for designers and playtesters of all backgrounds.
To help provide our online community with opportunities to connect with the wider tabletop games industry, our Live Event Hosts will run live voice calls of various types and lengths in our Discord server outside of our playtesting convention open hours.
Live Event Hosts must have excellent people skills and stay engaged and vigilant throughout the events they host as well as taking on the responsibility of scheduling the events and coordinating to bring in any special guests participating in the live event.
We are accepting applications for live event hosts and particularly encourage BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, women, and those living outside of North America time zones to apply.
Job Responsibilities
Before a live event
- Coordinate with organizers and other Live Event Hosts in the Discord #live-event-hosts and #team-po-general group chat
- Read instructions in our Live Event Host Handbook
- Read our Code of Conduct
- Pick a time and choose an available event type to schedule through the Discord Live Event Scheduling form
During a live event
- Optionally use Craig Bot to record the audio of the event for a replay, using our event posting system and stating out loud at the beginning of the event that you are recording to ensure all participants are notified
- While hosting an event, connect via both voice and video in your designated Discord voice or stage channel
- Hold live event participants accountable to following our Code of Conduct
- Help live event participants troubleshoot tech issues, keeping disruptions to the event to a minimum
- Reach out to an organizer with any questions or Code of Conduct issues you don’t feel comfortable addressing on your own
After a live event
- If the event’s audio was recorded, download the file immediately after the event and share it through the Discord Craig Recording Submission form to queue it for upload to the Protospiel Online Live podcast feed.
